About #
3D idle racing game where players sit on pov of racing car and manage the driver by tell the driver to when to accelerate, slow down, and even pit the car. The game features a variety of cars and each with unique line when you get overtaken by other cars.
Responsibilities #
Game Designer - Created the core gameplay loop, progression systems, and balancing mechanics to ensure an engaging idle racing experience.
Game Programmer - Implemented the game mechanics, including car physics, Camera Control, AI behavior, and mockup of user interface elements to enhance player interaction.
Core Loop #
- Race: Get the first Poisition by telling the driver when to accelerate.
- Speed Control: Manage the car’s speed and energy by signaling when to slow down or speed up.
- Pit Stop: Decide the optimal time to pit the car for refueling.
Gameplay #
Race With AI Opponents #
Players compete against AI-controlled cars, each with distinct driving styles and strategies, adding variety and challenge. Oh, when you overtake other cars, they have unique lines that make the race more dynamic.
Pit Stop Management #
Okay so you have to manage the pit stops strategically. Deciding when to pit for refueling can make or break your race. Otherwise, you might run out of battery before the finish line!
Leaderboards #
Since it’s race you will have to compete for the best times on global leaderboards, encouraging replayability and competition among players.
Player Feedback #
We gather more than 20 people to playtest the game and give feedback on the gameplay mechanics, difficulty balance, and overall enjoyment. This feedback was crucial in refining the game experience and ensuring it meets player expectations.
Audiences #
The audiece are varied from casual players to racing enthusiasts who enjoy strategic gameplay and competitive racing experiences.
Results #
Based on player feedback, we have to make several adjustments to improve the game, including tweaking the AI difficulty, enhancing the UX, and give more replayability by adding more progression systems and cars customization.
