About #
Auntie Mega’s Fish Tank is an idle tycoon collection game where players manage their aquarium by catching and collecting various fish species. With a charming art style and engaging gameplay loop, players can idle to earn resources or actively participate in building their dream fish tank while minimizing their window just like Rusty Retirement.
Responsibilities #
Game Design - Created the core gameplay loop, progression systems, and balancing mechanics to ensure an engaging idle tycoon experience.
Technical Lead - Oversaw the technical implementation of game features, optimized performance for both desktop and mobile platforms, and ensured smooth gameplay across devices. Im also gathered user data to improve the game experience since the gameplay is very experimental.

Core Loop #
- Catch Fish: Players use various tools and strategies to catch different species of fish, each with unique attributes and values.
- Collect: Caught fish are added to the player’s aquarium, where they could have mutations which increase the sell value.
- Sell Fish for Resources: Players can sell their collected fish to earn in-game currency, which can be used to purchase better equipment and upgrades, enhancing their fishing capabilities.
Gameplay #
Resizable window #
Inspired by Rusty Retirement, players can play the game while doing other tasks on their device by minimizing the game window to a small resizable overlay.
Idle Tycoon #
Players can earn resources and progress even when they’re not actively playing, making it easy to enjoy the game at their own pace.
Fish Collection + Mutations #
Players can catch and collect various fish species, each with unique attributes. Some fish can have mutations that increase their sell value, adding depth to the collection aspect of the game.
